Background and Overview

Paul is an IT professional and Law graduate with over 20 years experience in Information technology and Business Consulting. Starting as a programmer he has successfully performed all of the roles in the life cycle of a project up to and including Programme Management. The combination of his technical, consultancy and management background enable him to communicate effectively at all levels.

A few years ago he semi retired from permanent IT work after taking a sabbatical to build a log home on the banks of the Thames. He has continued to carry out ad hoc assignments for AscendNet, a small IT consultancy which he set up with an ex. colleague from KPMG. He also works part time on a voluntary basis teaching computing skills to the severely disabled.

To develop and demonstrate that his computer skills are up to date he has recently taken and passed the ITIL foundation certificate in IT Service management.

Paul's most recent contract was at AVIVA (Norwich Union) involving the recruitment of management and technical staff for a new product innovations department. The contract ended in 2007 ....
